Here at ABKA we work hard to raise the profile of beekeeping and support local beekeepers. Our objective is to promote the craft of beekeeping and promote the importance of bees. We are affiliated with the BBKA (British Beekeeping Association and are an umbrella organisation for our network of five local beekeeping branches.

The BBKA was founded in 1874 and has been at the fore of beekeeping in the UK ever since.  The BBKA works hard to raise the profile of beekeeping and the importance of bees in the environment.  The BBKA educates and trains beekeepers of the future and supports vital research.

The BBKA advise government on their Pollinators Strategy and the work with the network of local beekeeping associations and branches to improve the environment for honey bees and other valuable pollinators.
